 Daylight Robbery (2008)
IMDB rating: 6.00
Plot: Alex (Geoff Bell, The Business) masterminds an ambitious plan to steal millions of untraceable cash that is stacked in the underground vaults of The London Exchange Bank, waiting for its last journey, Incineration. Lucky (Vas Blackwood, Lock Stock) Matty (Leo Gregory, Stoned) Terry (Johnny Harris, London to Brighton) Chubby (Paul Nicholls, The Trench) Norman (Justin Salinger, Hitler) and Jay (Robert Boulter, The Long Firm) make up his unlikely gang of robbers. Setting up their alibi, the gang check in for a flight and join in with thousands of England supporters that are part of a mass exodus to The World Cup Tournament in Germany. Instead of passing through to Departure Lounge, the gang head out to the car park, pile into a van and head for Central London where they spectacularly ram raid London Exchange Bank, blocking any exit for those caught up inside. But with an unexpected turn of events, their plan is hampered from the start and they are left with a whole lot more than just a bank robbery to deal with. They have twenty hostages inside and the Police have laid siege to The Bank. There are two and a half hours before their plane leaves, and seventy million pounds in hard cash to steal. A daunting task, even for the most seasoned Blagger!

My fears are coming true it seems?
Okay i have this fear of being out with my daughter when something horrid happens—like a shooting for example. well just the other day the walgreens I always go to at 6 pm had a crime scene surrounding it on my way home—I was even thinking of stopping by there til I saw that. I found out today that what happened there was a person just shopping was a victim of armed robbery and was shot to death. To think I could have been there with my daughter just freaks me out. Usually I go out for little errands in the evening around 6 or 7—and to that place or around there, which is usually a "safe’ or "okay" area. Then just tonight I was driving home again and at the hardware store just across the street there appears to be another crime scene—three cop cars and then yellow caution tape.
I know this world isn’t a safe place for any baby by any means, but I know ti cant all be bad either. I really feel bad for the poor person who was shot he (a man in the article) was just simply going to walgreen’s to get something like you or I would—he wasn’t planning on dying that night. So many ppl have told me not to go on errands by myself and I didn’t believe them until now, but Ive always had a fear of something bad happening to me or my daughter while out, but I told myself "cant live inf ear" and that it was irrational. Now the scary part is, those fears I have ARE rational. Because they DO happen. And the fact that there’s two crime scenes back to back RIGHT where I live, is scary to me. And the sad part is, a lot the times I’m alone with my daughter bc my bf works late long hours, and I a lot of times have to go pick up things sometimes—like fruit or wipes etc. I usually go out in broad daylight, but 6 pm is still pretty early and that’s when it happened. And I admit I have gone to the store in the evening before to places that i thought were "safe".
AWESOME, TWO ILLITERATE BONEHEADS ANSWERED MY QUESTION—F&CKING GREAT—thanks "awesome’ girl who actually READ and COMPREHENDED the question
MY QUESTION IS, SHOULD I STILL BE FEARFUL AND AVOIDING GOING OUT UNLESS I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO, AND ONLY DURING THE DAY? AND HOW DO ID EAL WITH BEING AFRAID WHEN MY FEARS ARE STEEPED IN REALITY BC STUFF LIKE THIS REALLY HAPPENS AND HAS LATELY?
I apologize for caps, but some people cant read it seems.
okay finally getting answers from people who GET what my question is and who know how to read
I am suspicious of people anyway and I am always scared of something horrible happening to me or my daughter. It’s getting to the point where I don’t even want to go outside most days. There are so many crazy pychos in the world and no one can be trusted. Sad but true.

A FAT MAN YOU MET AT THE MALL | May 03, 2009
well it sounds like those two crimes might be related in some way (like the same person or people) since it was back to back and next to each other.
if youre scared, then dont go out, but thats not really any way to live.
or try to do all your shopping one day a week when your boyfriend can go with you.

you should maybe try to going earlier like at 2 or 3 when the kids come out of school.
Try asking a friend to walk with you are some one you know…
every time you go out prey and ask God to protect you and your baby all the time
think and believe that God is always going to be with you and your baby , and that he is not going to let some thing bad happen to a little angel because your baby is a little angel that God is watching every day and night so just have faith that some thing bad is never going to happened to you or your baby girl..
I hope this is help full .

wow! I feel the exact same way! I have never been around any thing like that after my son was born, but I think of it often (if something terrible happened when we were at the store, or around a shooting). When I was pregnant I read a lot of things and did a lot of research on things. Everyone still thinks that I am over protective. But then some one told me something one time that made me feel better.
Honestly I can’t remember who it was right now but, she told me that "the people who think the world isn’t safe and are scared to bring a child into it make the best parents" I know that really isn’t an answer but it made me feel better and now I am much more confident that my "mother’s intuition" is in fact something I can trust.
The world is not a safe place but we just have to find all of the good things (and good people) and make the most out of them.
I hope this helps you at least feel a little better but honesty I think it is okay to worry a little bit.

It’s great that you are such a loving mother and want to be cautious. We all have to be careful–but yet, we don’t want to teach our kids to be fearful of the world, just safe. Things can happen anywhere and anytime unfortunately. I would not be fearful and avoid going out, but I would go during the day and maybe earlier.
As a mother–you have to get out to–go to the playground, go to playgroups, go out to eat. I didn’t learn that lesson with my first until she was five months old–and I was really getting down. Meeting other mothers to discuss concerns like these really helps! Take care an congratulations!
