Roman Holiday
Roman Holiday (1953)

IMDB rating: 8.10

Plot: Princess Anne embarks on a highly publicized tour of Europian capitals. When she and her royal entourage arrive in Rome, she begins to rebel against her restricted, regimented schedule. One night Anne sneaks out of her room, hops into the back of a delivery truck and escapes her luxurious confinement. However, a sedative she was forced to take earlier starts to take effect, and the princess is soon fast asleep on a public bench. She is found by Joe Bradley, an American newspaper reporter stationed in Rome. He takes her back to his apartment. The next morning Joe dashes off to cover the Princess Anne press conference, unaware that she is sleeping on his couch! Once he realizes his good fortune, Joe promises his editor an exclusive interview with the princess.

What is your alltime favourite romantic movie?
I love movies like Roman Holiday, The Philadelphia Story, and more "modern" movies like Nicholas Sparks’ "Message in a Bottle". I guess I love the last one because I love the outer banks of North Carolina. My favourite states are North Carolina and Tennessee. I also love West Virginia. The song by John Denver, "Almost heaven, West Virginia" really resonates with me. Oh, I love Missouri as well. My favourite author, Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) was raised there. I’ve travelled through that part of the U.S. and fell in love with it.
Anna, another Nicholas Sparks fan!
Hi Nel,
I love Audrey Hepburn movies too.
Oh, and of course Charlotte Bronte’s Wuthering Heights. I believe it’s generally her favourite book although mine is Jane Eyre.
Curious, Sophia Loren is still a beautiful woman and a VERY passionate actress.

A Walk to Remember :)

Breakfast at Tiffanys, GiGi and My Fair Lady are some great classic romances but I think my favorite classic romance would have to be Wuthering Heights !!

Titanic. Definetly Titanic. If you haven’t seen it, GO SEE IT NOW! It was the best romantic movie I had ever watched. The chemistry between Leo and Kate was amazing! The actors were so passionate. The ending was so sad. I cry every time. Like literally, every time. I probably watched it over 20 times though. But go watch it.
